Battle of Yenidje
The Battle of Yenidje or Yenice, also Battle of Giannitsa (Greek: Μάχη των Γιαννιτσών), was a battle between the Greek Army and the Ottoman Army on October 20 (O.S. ) / November 2, 1912, during the First Balkan War. The Greek Army defeated the Ottomans, opening the way towards Thessaloniki and capturing Yenidje (now Giannitsa).

This is because it was mostly populated by Bulgarian refugees from Makrochori who moved to Bulgaria after the Balkan Wars of 1912–1913.
