Orang National Park

The Orang National Park, located on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River in the Darrang and Sonitpur districts of Assam, India, covers an area of 78.81 square kilometres . It was established as a sanctuary in 1985 and declared a National Park on 13 April 1999. It is also known as the mini Kaziranga National Park since the two parks have a similar landscape made up of marshes, streams and grasslands and are inhabited by the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros.

Marigaon district

Marigaon district is an administrative district in the state of Assam in India. The district headquarters are located at Marigaon. The district occupies an area of 1,550 km² and has a population of 957,853 (as of 2011) of which males and females are 485,328 and 472,525 respectively. The ancient place of occult Mayang is located in this district as well as Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.

Kharupetia

Kharupetia is a town and a town area committee in Darrang district in the Indian state of Assam. Kharupetia, a fast developing commercial town in Shyamabari Mouza of Mangaldoi Sub-Division under Darrang District. It is about 17 km. away from Mangaldoi, the District headquarter and 87 km from Guwahati, the gateway of NE-region . It is connected by the National High Way No. 52. The town exports fresh vegetables, fish and staples across Assam and other parts of India.

Mangaldoi

Mangaldoi (also spelt as Mangaldai) is a town and a municipal board in Darrang district in the Indian state of Assam. It was named after "Mangaldahi" who was the daughter of the [Raja Raja] of Darrang and who was married to the Ahom King [Pratap Singha]. </br> Mangaldoi is the headquarter of the Darrang district. Its population ranges between 20000-50000 according to 2011 census. It is an important trading centre for all agricultural products. </br>
