Bardepur

Bardepur (बरदेपुर) is a small village on National Highway 105 in India. Geographically, it is surrounded by a small seasonal stream that is considered by the locals to be a source of the Jeevachh river. Politically, it is under Pursoulia Gram Panchayat of Kaluahi Block in Madhubani District of Bihar. Sociologically, this village has special significance as Hindu and Muslim families here have lived together harmoniously for generations.

Madhubani, India

Madhubani is a town and a municipality in Madhubani district in the Indian state of Bihar. It is the district headquarters. It lies 26 km northeast of Darbhanga town and was part of the erstwhile 'Bettiah Raj'. Internal disputes and family quarrels divided the Bettiah Raj in course of time. The Madhuban Raj in Madhubani was created as a consequence.

Madhubani district is a part of Darbhanga Division. The district occupies an area of 3501 km² and has a population of 3,570,651. This is the centre of Mithila, a region where the main language is Maithili.

Navlakha Palace

Navlakha Palace (Hindi: नवलखा महल)), also called Naulakha Palace) is situated in town of Rajnagar (राजनगर) near Madhubani (मधुबनी) in Bihar. This Palace was built by Maharaja Rameshwar Singh of Darbhanga. This Palace suffered extensive damage during the earthquake of 1934 and was not rebuilt thereafter. Now this palace is in ruins.
