Fort St. Anthony of Simbor

The Fort St. Anthony of Simbor, Forte de Santo António de Simbor in Portuguese, also referred as Fort of the Sea or Fort of Pani-Kota, is located on a small island in the bay of Simbor, about 25 km east of Diu in India. It was subordinate to the Portuguese Diu District, defended the supply of the boats on that stretch of coast.

Tulshishyam

Tulsishyam is located across border of Amreli district and Junagadh district in the Gir forest national park region of Gujarat state. It is 45 km from Dhari (Dist-Amreli) and 35 km from Una city (Dist-Junagadh). It is very well connected with both cities. There is an ancient temple of Lord Vishnu-Lord Shyam. Legend says that Lord Krishna eliminated the demon called Tul and so the place is associated with his name along with that of Krishna as Shyam and is thus called Tulsishyam.

Diu, India

Diu is a town in Diu district in the union territory of Daman and Diu, India. It was the location of the pivotal Battle of Diu in 1509 between Portugal and a combined force of Turkey, Egypt, Venice, the Republic of Ragusa (now known as Dubrovnik) and the Sultan of Gujarat, Mahmud Begada. The town of Diu lies at the eastern end of Diu Island, and is known for its fortress and old Portuguese Cathedral. It is also a fishing town. It is the tenth least populated district of India.

INS Khukri (1958)

INS Khukri was a British Type 14 (Blackwood-class) frigate of the Indian Navy. She was sunk off the coast of Diu, Gujarat, India by the Pakistan Navy Daphne-class submarine Hangor on 9 December 1971 during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. This was the first warship sunk in action by a submarine since World War II. It remains the Indian navy's only warship to be lost in war to date.
