Lidder Valley

The Lidder Valley or Liddar Valley in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India, is a Himalayan sub-valley that forms the northeastern corner of the Vale of Kashmir. The Lidder River flows down the valley. The entrance to the valley lies seven km northeast from Anantnag town and 62 km southeast from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a 40-km-long gorge valley with an average width of 3 km.

Martand Sun Temple

Martand Sun Temple was dedicated to Surya (Sun) god and is now in ruins. The ruins of the temple are located near Anantnag in Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Martand is another Sanskrit name for Hindu Sun-god. The Martand temple is one of the important archaeological sites of the country. It was built around 500 AD. This temple has the typical Aryan structure as was present in Aryan Kashmir.

Anantnag district

Anantnag is a district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of eight districts which make up the Kashmir Valley. The district headquarter is Anantnag city. As of 2011, it was the third most populous district of Jammu and Kashmir, after Jammu and Srinagar.

Anantnag

Anantnag, (An-ant=un-ending, Naga=Springs) is a city and a municipality in Anantnag district in Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Anantnag is regarded as the commercial and financial capital of the Kashmir valley. It is a large business and trading centre of the valley.

Khiram Patnipora

Khiram is a village in Anantnag District of the Jammu and Kashmir state of India. This Khiram village is the largest in the area which has a population of 20,000. It is approximately twenty one kilometers (21 km) away from Anantnag District town center and fourteen kilometers (14 km) away from the Tehsil Headquarters. The Khiram village and Anantnag City are connected by road passing through either via Bijbhara, Srigufwara, and Khiram or Singam, Marhama, Srihama, Khiram roads.
