Korom (the traditional local pronunciation is "Ko-ro-m") is a village in Payyanur, Kerala. This village have an important place in the history of Communist movement in Kerala. The village is renowned for the famous Hindu temple, Chenankavu Bhagavathi Temple where the Goddess Bhagavathi is enshrined and attracts a number of Bhagavathi devotees. Pariyaram Medical College was established in March 1993 at Pariyaram in Kannur district, Kerala state, South India.
