Deorala is a village in the Sikar district of Rajasthan, India. Deorala is a village in Shekhawati region. It is located near Amarsar which was the capital of Maharao Shekhaji, ancientor of all Shekhawat rajputs. Deorala (or Divrala) became infamous because of the Sati incident that took place on 4 September 1987.

Battle of Maonda and Mandholi

The Battle of Maonda and Mandholi was fought between The Jat rulers of Bharatpur and the Rajput rulers of Amer Jaipur in 1776. Maharaj Jawahar Singh of Bharatpur was leading an army on his way back from Pushkar when the forces of Sawai Raja Madho Singhji of Jaipur met them near Maonda and Mandholi villages close to present day Neem ka Thana. Over 25000 soldiers were slain in this battle and caused heavy casualties on both sides. Many Rajputs and Jats were slain in this battle.
