Madras Institute of Technology

The Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) is an engineering institute located in Chromepet, Chennai (Madras), India. It is one of the four autonomous constituent colleges of Anna University. It was started in 1949 by C. Rajam as the first self-financing engineering institute in the country, and later it merged with Anna University.

Tambaram Sanatorium

Tambaram Sanatorium is a locality between Chromepet and Tambaram, in Chennai, India. The neighbourhood is served by Tambaram Sanatorium railway station on the Chennai Beach–Villupuram section via Tambaram of the Chennai suburban railway. It was originally a part of Tambaram, but later developed as a separate town due to the railway station and the TB Sanatorium and the Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) located there.
