Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli

Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli, is a state owned Engineering Institute located in the town of Tirunelveli in the state of Tamil Nadu. Tirunelveli is often referred as the 'Oxford of south India' due to the large number of educational institutions present. It is a constituent college of Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli and is a DOTE approved educational institution in Tamil Nadu. It was established in the year 1981. The college is spread on an area of 23 hectares.

Sarah Tucker College

The Sarah Tucker College is an institution in Palayamkottai, a town in Tirunelveli District in the southern state of Tamil Nadu in India. It is the first college for women in south India, owing its origin to Sarah Tucker of England and her friends, who raised money for the founding of a small school for training teachers for elementary schools in Tirunelveli District. After this the Sarah Tucker High School was started, which was raised to a college in 1895.

Vittilapuram

Vittilapuram is a village in Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu, India. It is around 15 kilometers from Tirunelveli junction, and 2 kilometers from Vasayappapuram Vilaku which is on the Tirunelveli-Thoothukudi highway, NH 7A. The place names comes from Sri Panduranga Vittalar temple. It was built by King Vittalarayar under the jurisdiction of Empire Sri Krishnadeva Rayar on 1547 AD.
