Pattaravakkam

Pattaravakkam is a small sub-urban locality in the north-west part of Chennai, India. It comes under the Ambattur municipality and situated along the Chennai-Mumbai railway. Many of the residents are suburban commuters and work in one of major industrial complexes of North Chennai. It also houses all the textile industry. Ambattur Lake

Ambattur Lake is a rain-fed reservoir which reaches top levels during the monsoon seasons. In November 2008, incessant monsoon rain filled the lake and encroachments on the north and south banks of the lake were demolished. It also caters to the drinking water needs of the Chennai city after Poondi and Chembarambakkam Lake.
