River Robe

The River Robe (Irish: Abhainn an Róba) is a river in County Mayo, Ireland. It rises near Ballyhaunis, then flows generally west for 64 kilometres, where it drains into Lough Mask. The river is the longest tributary of Lough Mask and it drains 320 square kilometres of south Mayo. The Robe's Environmental Protection Agency River ID is 30_1579.

Cong Abbey

Cong Abbey is a historic site located at Cong, on the borders of counties Galway and Mayo, in Ireland's province of Connacht. Founded in the early 7th century, by Saint Feichin, the abbey was destroyed by fire in the early 12th century. Turlough Mor O’Connor, the High King of Ireland, refounded the abbey circa 1135. His son Rory O'Connor, the last High King of Ireland before the Norman invasion, constructed new buildings and also lived the last 15 years of his life at the abbey, dying in 1198.

Ross Errilly Friary

The Ross Errilly Friary (Irish: Mainistir Ros Oirialaigh, often anglicised in 18th & 19th century sources as Rosserelly) is a medieval Franciscan friary located about a mile to the northwest of Headford, County Galway, Ireland. It is a National Monument of Ireland and among the best-preserved medieval monastic sites in the country. Though usually referred to by locals as "Ross Abbey," this is not technically correct as the community never had an abbot.

Lough Carra

Lough Carra is a limestone lake of 4,000 acres, located in the Barony of Carra, County Mayo, Republic of Ireland, approximate 8 miles (13 km) south of Castlebar. It is approximately 6 miles long and varies in width from 400 yards to one mile (1.6 km). The average depth is 6 feet, with a maximum of 60. Lough Carra was part of the estate of the well-known Moore family of Moore Hall. It is a well-known brown trout lough, and is situated northeast of Lough Mask.
