Creggs

Creggs is a small village in County Galway, Ireland, on the R362 regional road between Glenamaddy and Athleague. Although it has a population of only a hundred the village contains three Public Houses and used to contain seven. The village of Creggs was once a popular centre, with a monthly Fair, dancing, football and Feiseanna (music competition). It has a nationally well known rugby union team.

Glenamaddy Turlough

The Glenamaddy Turlough is located east of the town of Glenamaddy, County Galway in Ireland. A turlough is a seasonal lake which usually dries up in summer. Glenamaddy Turlough lies alongside the R362 regional road in the outskirts of the town, and there is a car park and viewing area on the lake-shore. The town of Glenamaddy is reputed to get its name from the shape of the lake in winter, which is said to resemble a dog.

Glenamaddy GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Glenamaddy, County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Glenamaddy compete in the Galway Intermediate Club Football Championship yet they have not won the competition in their history.

Williamstown, County Galway

Williamstown (Irish: Baile Uilliam/Baile Liam, meaning "William's town") is a small village located on the R360 regional road in the townland of Corralough in northeast County Galway, Ireland. The village is situated half way between Dunmore and Ballymoe in north County Galway.

Castlestrange stone

The Castlestrange stone is located in the grounds of "Castlestrange House" near Athleague in County Roscommon. It is a granite boulder decorated with flowing spirals in the La Tène style, dating from the Iron Age period between 500 BC and 100 AD. It is believed that there was a strong Continental influence in Ireland at the time, which the carver was imitating. Only three other stones of this type have been found in Ireland, of which the Turoe stone in County Galway is the best known.
