Ballyfin GAA

Ballyfin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling and gaelic football club located in the village of Ballyfin in County Laois, Ireland. The club colours are green and white. The club grounds are at Cappinrush, beside Ballyfin's Roman Catholic church. The current Laois senior hurling players Sean Lowry, John Joe McHugh and Dermot McGill are members of the club as is Oliver Phelan who managed Laois to their 1996 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship.

County Laois is a county in Ireland. It is part of the Midlands Region and is also located in the province of Leinster. It was formerly known as Queen's County. Laois County Council is the local authority for the county. The population of the county is 80,559 according to the 2011 census - 20% higher than it was in the 2006 census which is the highest percentage population growth in the country.

Port Laoise railway station

Portlaoise railway station is a railway station on the Dublin to Cork Intercity railway line. It is the end of the widening commuter belt for Dublin, and the western limit in the "Giant Hop" zone. It is situated above the town of Portlaoise, in County Laois. Irish Rail opened a new Traincare depot south-west of Portlaoise town centre in March 2008 (officially opened on 25th July 2008).

Portlaoise GAA

Portlaoise GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling and Gaelic football club in Portlaoise, County Laois, Ireland. The club grounds off the Abbeyleix road in the town of Portlaoise are called Pairc Ui Fhaolain, after a former stalwart Bill Phelan. The club colours are white with a green hoop. Portlaoise GAA club is Laois's biggest and the most successful club since the inception of the Gaelic Athletic Association in Laois. It is also the most successful club in Leinster.
