Ardfinnan GAA

Ardfinnan GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Tipperary, Ireland. The club draws its players and support from the small town of the same name. The area comprises three parishes of Ardfinnan, Grange and Ballybacon and their surrounding hinterlands. The club, in south Tipperary, is known by its supporters as "the village". The team's home ground is on the main Ardfinnan to Clonmel road just outside the village.

River Tar

The Tar is a river in South Tipperary, Ireland. It joins the Suir between the towns of Ardfinnan and Newcastle. The Tar's tributaries include the River Duag which joins it between Clogheen and Ballyporeen. The Tar was an important source of power to drive grain processing mills up to the 19th century.

The Nire (An Uidhir) and Fourmilewater (Caislean Cuanach) are two separate clubs, with separate committees pulling from the same pool of players. The Nire is the football club in the area and Fourmilewater the hurling club. Both teams play in the Mill Field, Ballymacarbry.
