Glaslough

Glaslough or Glasslough is a village and townland in the north of County Monaghan, Ireland, on the R185 regional road 3 km south of the border with Northern Ireland and 10 km northeast of Monaghan Town. Glaslough won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 1978. Castle Leslie, the large Victorian country house and luxury hotel, is located on the edge of the village.

Battle of the Yellow Ford

The Battle of the Yellow Ford was fought in western County Armagh, Ulster, in Ireland, near the river Blackwater on 14 August 1598, during the Nine Years War (Ireland). It was fought between the Gaelic native Irish army under Aodh Mór Ó Néill and Aodh Ruadh Ó Domhnaill and a crown expeditionary force from Dublin under Henry Bagenal. The crown forces were marching from Armagh town to re-supply a besieged fort on the Blackwater when they fell into an ambush and were routed with heavy losses.

Tyholland

Tyholland (Irish: Tigh Thalainn, meaning "Talainn's house") is a small parish in County Monaghan, Ireland. It is the smallest parish in the County Monaghan and borders County Armagh. For a period it was united with Donagh parish and later still with Monaghan parish. Since 1826 it has been once again a parish in its own right.

Harvest Time Blues

Harvest Time Blues (also referred to as the Monaghan Rhythm and Blues Festival) is an annual music festival held in Monaghan town, in Ireland. Since its launch in 1990, it has become one of the "one of Ireland's leading live music festivals". Several noted performers have appeared at the festival, including Van Morrison, Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, and ex-Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor.
