Israeli National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum is a maritime and Archaeological museum in Haifa, Israel. The museum was founded in 1953, based on the private collection of its founder and first director, Aryeh Ben- Eli. In 1972, the museum moved to its current premises near the northern beachhead of Mount Carmel, between Stella Maris and Bat Galim neighborhoods. Nearby are the Israeli Clandestine Immigration and Naval Museum and the Cave of Elijah.

Tel Shikmona

Tel Shikmona is an ancient tell (mound) situated near the sea coast on the southern entrance to the modern city of Haifa, Israel. Archaeological excavations that took place at this location in 1963, uncovered the remains of a city that existed there between the 11th - 14th BCE and was intermittently inhabited during the Byzantine period. The Israeli National Institute of Oceanography is situated at Shikmona. Shikmona was declared a 1677-dunam nature reserve in 2008.

Battle of Haifa (1948)

The Battle of Haifa, called by the Jewish forces Operation Bi'ur Hametz was a Haganah operation carried out on 21–22 April 1948. The objective of the operation was the capture of the Arab neighborhoods of Haifa and was a major event in the final stages of the civil war in Palestine, leading up to the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

Maxim restaurant suicide bombing

The Maxim restaurant suicide bombing was a suicide bombing which occurred on October 4, 2003 in the beachfront "Maxim" restaurant in Haifa, Israel. 21 people were killed in the attack and 51 were injured. Among the victims were two families and four children, including a two-month-old baby.
