Lamezia Terme Centrale railway station

Lamezia Terme Centrale railway station (Italian: Stazione di Lamezia Terme Centrale) is the main railway station serving the city and comune of Lamezia Terme, in the Calabria region, southern Italy. Opened in 1894, it forms part of the Southern Tyrrhenian railway (Salerno–Reggio Calabria), and is also a terminus of a secondary line, the Lamezia Terme–Catanzaro Lido railway. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI).

Lamezia Terme International Airport

Lamezia Terme International Airport (Italian: Aeroporto Internazionale di Lamezia Terme) is an airport near Lamezia Terme, Italy. It is the most important Calabrian airport. Its IATA airport code SUF is derived from Sant'Eufemia, the part of Lamezia Terme which the airport is closest to. A military helicopter unit, 2° Reggimento dell'Aria "Sirio", is based near the airport.

Battle of Numistro

The Battle of Numistro was fought in 210 BC between Hannibal's army and the Roman consular army led by consul Marcus Claudius Marcellus. Just after Hannibal defeated proconsul Cneus Fulvius Centumalus in the Second Battle of Herdonia, Marcellus informed the Senate he would intercept and gave battle against the Punic general to restore Roman honor.

Savuto

The Savuto is a river and valley in Calabria, Italy which lies at the intersection of the provinces of Cosenza and Catanzaro. It is also the name of a DOC wine produced in the region. The river's source is in La Sila and it empties into the Tyrrhenian Sea, at the Gulf of Sant'Eufemia, after a run of 48 km. The name originates from the latin Sabatus, and it may also correspond to the Greek Ocinaros ("that flows quickly"), on which there was located the ancient town of Temesa.
