Volci

Volci or Vulci is an Etruscan city (in Etruscan, Velch or Velx, depending on the romanization used) in the Province of Viterbo, north to Rome, Italy. The Vulci were a tribe or people as well as a city. They were one of the legendary twelve peoples of Etruscan civilization, who formed into the Etruscan League, a confederacy of self-interest. This league splintered apart when opposed by the central government of the Roman Republic, and the Etruscans were soon assimilated. Volci was abandoned.

Montalto Di Castro Airfield

Montalto Di Castro Airfield is an abandoned World War II military airfield in Italy, located approximately 16 km southwest of Canino, in the province of Viterbo in the internal part of Maremma Laziale, 90 km north-northwest of Rome. It was an all-weather temporary field built by the United States Army Air Force XII Engineer Command using a graded earth compacted surface, with a prefabricated hessian (burlap) surfacing known as PHS.

Statonia

Statonia was an ancient Etruscan city located in what is now southern Tuscany, central Italy. The ancient town was located south-west to the modern Pitigliano, in the area of Poggio Buco, not far from the localities of Corano and Poggio Formica, where several prehistoric tombs have been excavated. Its remains are on a tuff butte. According to archaeologists, Statonia's period of highest splendour would have been the 7th century BC.
