Interesting facts about this location

Corniglia

Corniglia is a frazione ("fraction") of the commune of Vernazza in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northern Italy. Unlike the other localities of the Cinque Terre, Corniglia is not directly adjacent to the sea. Instead, it is on the top of a promontory about 100 metres high, surrounded on three sides by vineyards and terraces and the fourth side descends steeply to the sea.

Vara (river)

The Vara is a river of the Province of La Spezia in Liguria, north-west Italy, which runs through Varese Ligure, Brugnato, Borghetto di Vara and Castiglione di Vara. At 58 km it is the longest river in Liguria. The main source of the river is on Monte Zatta; for much of its course it flows in a southeasterly direction, parallel to the Riviera di levante, in the valley which takes its name: the Val di Vara.

Volastra

Volastra is a village in the Cinque Terre National Park, Italy. The population is less than 200 residents. The most notable building in Volastra is Nostra Signora della Salute ("Our Lady of Health"). The church is constructed in the Romanesque style, possibly dating to the twelfth century.
