Grana, Piedmont

Grana is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Asti in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50 km east of Turin and about 12 km northeast of Asti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 628 and an area of 6.0 km². Versa (Tanaro)

The Versa, a left tributary of the Tanaro, is a 35 kilometre torrent in the Province of Asti in north-west Italy. It is the river of the valley called Valle Versa. In 1836 the Versa was identified, along with the Rotaldo, the Grana, the Stura and the Gattola, as one of the five torrents of the still extant Province of Casale. Its source is a little to the north of Cocconato near the border with the Province of Turin.

Belbo

The Belbo is a river of southern Piedmont, Italy. It is a right-side tributary of the Tanaro. The Belbo rises in the Langhe, on the borders between Piedmont and Liguria in the hills of Montezemolo. After flowing through the Piedmontese provinces of Cuneo, Asti and Alessandria, the river joins the Tanaro from the right at Villa del Foro, in the comune of Alessandria.

Province of Asti

The Province of Asti (It. Provincia di Asti) is a province in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. Its capital is the city of Asti. To the north west it borders on the province of Turin; to the south west it borders on the province of Cuneo. To the east it borders on the province of Alessandria, while in the south it shares a very short border with the Ligurian province of Savona. It has an area of 1,504.5 km², and a total population of 222,336 (2012).

Asti's Festival of Festivals

Asti's Festival of Festivals (in Italian Festival delle Sagre di Asti), is a great food and wine national event that takes place in Asti on the second Sunday of September, but it begins, as now established tradition, the previous Saturday night, when the influx of people sometimes exceed that of the same Sunday and falls in the period of "Astesan September", which includes the wine event Douja d'Or (which lasts ten days) and the Palio of Asti that runs on the third Sunday of September.
