Chisone

The Chisone (in Piedmontese Chison or Cleson) is a 53 km Italian torrent, which runs through Pragelato, Fenestrelle, Perosa Argentina and Pinerolo in the Province of Turin. It is a tributary of the Pellice, which in turn is a tributary of the Po River. Although classified as a torrent, there is no period of the year at which the Chisone runs dry.

Staffarda Abbey

Staffarda Abbey (Santa Maria di Staffarda) is a Cistercian monastery located near Saluzzo in north-west Italy; it was founded as a daughter house of Tiglieto Abbey in 1135 by Manfred I, Marquis of Saluzzo. The abbey became an important local centre for agriculture and held a flourishing market. It was placed in commendam to the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus in 1750.

Abbadia Alpina

Abbadia Alpina (formerly Abadia; in Piedmontese La Badìa; in Occitan L'Abaïa) is a frazione of the commune of Pinerolo in the Province of Turin in north-west Italy, located between the torrents Lemina and Cusone. At one time it belonged to a Benedictine monastery founded in 1064 by Adelaide, Countess of Turin, and suppressed in 1748. In the nineteenth century it was a commune in its own right, part of the mandamento of Pinerolo in the Province of Pinerolo and the Diocese of Pinerolo. c.

Valle Po

. The Valle Po is a valley of Cottian Alps in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont, northern Italy, run by the Po River before it enters the Po Valley (Pianura Padana, or Plain of the Po). It has a length of some 32 km, from Saluzzo to Crissolo, and is home to the Monviso mountain. It is bounded by the Val Pellice, Valle Varaita and the Valle del Guil.
