Castelsardo Cathedral

Castelsardo Cathedral (Italian: Concattedrale di Sant'Antonio abate) is a cathedral in Castelsardo, northern Sardinia, Italy, dedicated to Saint Anthony the Great. It became the seat of the bishop of Ampurias in 1503. In 1839 the diocese of Ampurias was merged into that of Tempio, and the episcopal seat moved to Tempio Cathedral, when that of Castelsardo became a co-cathedral, as it remains in the present diocese of Tempio-Ampurias.

Nostra Signora di Tergu

Nostra Signora di Tergu is a parish church in Tergu, province of Sassari, Sardinia, Italy. One of the most outstanding examples of Romanesque architecture in the island, the church and the remains of the annexed abbey are located in a countryside area outside the village. The construction of the church is attributed to the Giudice of Torres Marianus I, who reigned from 1065 to 1082. In 1122 it was a possession of the abbey of Montecassino.

Coghinas

The Coghinas is a river of northern Sardinia, Italy. With a length of 115 km, it is the third longest river of the island behind the Tirso and the Flumendosa. It has a drainage basin of 2551 km². The Coghinas's springs are located on the Mountains of Alà, in the province Olbia-Tempio; after crossing the Anglona traditional region in its later course, it flows into the Gulf of Asinara in the area of the towns of Badesi and Valledoria.

Gulf of Asinara

The Gulf of Asinara is a sea sector included between the Asinara Island, Cape Falcone and the town of Castelsardo, in northern Sardinia, Italy. The communes facing its coast include also Stintino, Porto Torres, Sassari, Sorso, Valledoria and Badesi. The littoral features several beaches, some kilometers long, such as La Pelosa, le Saline Ezzi Mannu and Fiume Santo, those near Porto Torres, Platamona, the beaches of Castelsardo, Valledoria, Badesi, Trinità d'Agultu, Vignola and Isola Rossa.

Platamona

Platamona is a coastal area in northern Sardinia, located along the Gulf of Asinara, in the municipality of Sassari, between the commune of Sorso and Porto Torres. The name Platamona comes from the Greek platamon-onos, that means flat surface. It is constituted by a beach of white sand and shells, surrounded from a wood of maritime pines and thousand-year trees of junipers, and a retro-dunal lagoon, where you can practise birdwatching and fishing.
