Villa Badoer

Villa Badoer is a villa in Fratta Polesine in the Veneto region of northern Italy. It was designed in 1556 by Andrea Palladio for the Venetian noble Francesco Badoer, and built between 1557 and 1563, on the site of a medieval castle which guarded a bridge across a navigable canal. This was the first time Palladio used his fully developed temple pediment in the facade of a villa.

Grignano Polesine

Grignano Polesine is a frazione of Rovigo with 3,000 inhabitants. It is approximately 8 km south of the town centre. With the name of Grignano di Polesine, assumed in 1867 after the precedent Grignano, it became an autonomous comune until 1927, when it became a frazione of Rovigo together with Boara Polesine, Borsea, Buso, Concadirame and Sant'Apollinare con Selva.

Battle of Polesella

The Battle of Polesella, fought on 22 December 1509, by forces of the Duchy of Ferrara and the Republic of Venice, was a naval battle on the River Po in the War of the League of Cambrai in the Italian Wars. It was an overwhelming victory for Ferrara.
