Teita Sisal Estate

The Teita Sisal Estate is one of the largest sisal estates in the world. It is located in Kenya Coast Province in district of Taita-Taveta near the town of Mwatate. The company is active in growing sisal and in manufucturing sisal goods such as rope, sacks and baling twine, at its manufacturing facility in Nairobi.

Mwatate

Mwatate is a village in Taita-Taveta District in the southern side of the Taita Hills. It is the headquarters of the Mwatate administrative division of the district. Mwatate held the headquarters of the whole district during the British colonial rule from 1900 to 1912, when the headquarters moved to Voi. Teita sisal estate, one of the largest sisal estates in world, is also located near the town of Mwatate. Mwatate division has a total population of 56,365.

Mbale, Kenya

Mbale is a town in western Kenya, the central town and headquarters of Vihiga County. It is also called Maragoli, after the indigenous inhabitants of the area, and is home to the annual Maragoli Cultural Festival, which is held every 26 December. Uganda has a town also called Mbale. Mbale's population is around 60,000 people of different races which include the Luhya, Kikuyu, Kisii and Luo, Asians.
