Nandi District

Nandi District is an administrative district in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. Its capital town is Kapsabet. The district has a population of 578,751 (1999 census) http://www. cck. go. ke/html/final_annex1_cover_status. pdf. The topography of the district is dominated by the Nandi Hills. The local people are mostly of the Nandi tribe. Nandi District is famous for producing many Kenyan runners, including Kipchoge Keino, Henry Rono, Moses Tanui and Bernard Lagat.

Kapsabet is a town in the Rift Valley Province, Kenya. It is the capital of Nandi District. Kapsabet hosts a municipal council and divisional headquarters of Kapsabet administrative division. Kapsabet municipality has an urban population of 17,918 and a total population of 64,830 (1999 census). Kapsabet municipality has eight wards (Chemundu/Kaptildil, Chepterit, Kabirirsang, Kamobo, Kapsabet, Kiminda, Kipsigak/Kipsotoi and Kipture/Irimis).

Chemelil Sports Complex

Chemelil Sports Complex is a multi-use stadium in Chemelil, Kenya. It is used mostly for football matches, and is the home stadium of Chemelil Sugar F.C. The stadium holds 5,000 people.

Chemelil

Chemelil is a town in Kenya. It is part of Muhoroni Division of Nyando District in Nyanza Province. Chemelil has a railway station along the Nairobi-Kisumu Railway between the stations of Kibigori and Muhoroni. The town is located 40 kilometres east of Kisumu, the Provincial capital. Muhoroni, another town, is located 10 kilometres east of Chemelil. Chemelil is home to Chemelil Sugar Company. The latter also owns Chemelil Sugar FC, a football club playing in the Kenyan Premier League.
