It became notorious in January 1999 after 45 people were killed in the village during the conflict between state security forces and Albanian guerrillas. The Bifurcation of the Nerodimka River is located in Uroševac, Kosovo. It represent Europe's only instance of a river bifurcation flowing into two seas. The Nerodimka divides into two irreversible branches. The left branch flows into the Black Sea, and the right branch flows into the Aegean Sea.
