Martyrs of February Stadium
Martyrs of February Stadium, otherwise known as Benina Stadium and until 2011 officially named Hugo Chávez Stadium, is a Libyan football stadium located in Benina, a town 19 km east of Benghazi. The stadium was constructed by the same company that built the Brita-Arena in Germany. The stadium holds 10,550 people. This is Libya's first all-seater stadium. The stadium will be used by most Benghazi clubs, and may be used by the national team as well. The surface of the pitch is artificial.

1958 Central African Airways plane crash
The 1958 Central African Airways plane crash occurred when a Vickers Viscount airliner crashed during a scheduled passenger flight from Wadi Halfa, Sudan, to Benghazi, Libya, on 9 August 1958 about 9 kilometers southeast of Benina International Airport in Libya. A total of 47 passengers and seven crew members were on board, of whom only 18 survived, making it the deadliest ever plane crash in Libya at the time of the accident.
