Kayl is a commune and town in south-western Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette, which is part of the district of Luxembourg. As of 2001, the town of Kayl, which lies in the centre of the commune, has a population of 4,237. Other towns within the commune include Tétange. The first surviving written reference to 'Keyle' dates from 1235.

Rumelange
Rumelange is a commune with city status in south-western Luxembourg, on the border with France. As of 2008, the town of Rumelange, which lies in the east of the commune, has a population of 4,818. It is also the site of some of the underground iron mines no longer in operation. Rumelange is home to Luxembourg's National Mining Museum. Rumelange was formed on 25 September 1891, when it was detached from the commune of Kayl. The law forming Rumelange was passed on the 27 June 1891.

Dudelange is a commune with city status in southern Luxembourg. It is the fourth-most populous commune, with over 18,300 inhabitants. Dudelange is situated close to the border to France. As of 2006, the town of Dudelange, which lies in the centre of the commune, has a population of 17,320, making it Luxembourg's third-most populous town. The commune also includes the smaller town of Budersberg, to the north-west. The Mont St. Jean, close to Budersberg, hosts the ruins of a medieval castle.
