Comonfort is a Mexican city located in the state of Guanajuato. The municipality has an area of 485.90 square kilometres (1.60% of the surface of the state) and is bordered to the north and northeast by San Miguel de Allende, to the east by the state of Querétaro, to the south and southwest by Empalme Escobedo, Apaseo el Grande, Celaya and Santa Cruz de Juventino Rosas, respectively . Cañada de la Virgen
Cañada de la Virgen is a pre-Columbian archaeological site in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. The site lies about 16 km west-southwest of the city of San Miguel de Allende within a private property, already registered by INAH in 1985. The construction of these pyramids and other architectural structures of the central basin of the Laja river is attributed to tolteca-chichimecas groups.
