Tancítaro

Tancítaro is a municipality in the western part of the Mexican state of Michoacán. The municipality has an area of 717.65 square kilometres (1.21% of the surface of the state) and is bordered to the north by the municipalities of Peribán and Uruapan, to the east by Nuevo Parangaricutiro, to southeast by Parácuaro, to the south by Apatzingán, and to the southwest by Buenavista. The municipality had a population of 26,089 inhabitants according to the 2005 census.

Nuevo San Juan Parangaricutiro

Nuevo San Juan Parangaricutiro, in the Mexican state of Michoacán, is a small village near the Parícutin volcano. The city is called "Nuevo" (Spanish for "New") because the original San Juan Parangaricutiro was destroyed during the formation of the Parícutin volcano in 1943. Along with the village of Parícutin, San Juan Parangaricutiro was buried beneath ash and lava. The tops of cathedrals in old San Juan Parangaricutiro still protrude from the volcanic deposits.

Gabriel Zamora

Gabriel Zamora is a municipality in the center of the Mexican state of Michoacán. The municipality has an area of 426.98 square kilometres (0.72% of the surface of the state) and is bordered to the north by the municipalities of Nuevo Parangaricutiro, Uruapan and Taretan, to the east by Nuevo Urecho, to the south by Múgica, and to the west by Parácuaro. The municipality had a population of 19,876 inhabitants according to the 2005 census. Its municipal seat is the city of Lombardía.

Lic. y Gen. Ignacio López Rayón International Airport, also known as "Uruapan International Airport", serves the Mexican city of Uruapan, and is the second largest international gateway of the Mexican state of Michoacán. It has one terminal. The airport is operated by Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares, a federal government-owned corporation. It is the second busiest airport in the state of Michoacan after Morelia International Airport.
