Solferino, Quintana Roo

Solferino is a small town located in the municipio (municipality) of Lázaro Cárdenas in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is located at an altitude of 10 meters above sea level. It has a population of 799 inhabitants according to the census of 2010 conducted by INEGI; The population is 13 kilometers from the port of Chiquilá and close to the limits of the Protection Area of Flora and Fauna Yum Balam, National Protected Area with an area 155,000 ha of which are valuable their wetlands.

Cabo Catoche

Cabo Catoche or Cape Catoche, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, is the northernmost point on the Yucatán Peninsula. It lies in the municipality of Isla Mujeres, about 53 km north of the city of Cancún. Catoche was the location of the first intentional landing by Europeans in the territory of modern-day Mexico, the Córdoba expedition of 1517. It was also the site of the first known accidental landing, a shipwreck in 1511 .
