Falcon International Reservoir

Falcon International Reservoir, commonly called Falcon Lake, is a reservoir on the Rio Grande 40 miles (64 km) southeast of Laredo, Texas, USA, and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The huge lake is bounded by Starr and Zapata counties on the Texas side of the international border and the municipality and city of Nueva Ciudad Guerrero on the Tamaulipas side of the border.

The Lake Falcon Dam International Crossing is a bridge across the Rio Grande south of Falcon Lake. The dam connects the United States-Mexico border cities of Falcon Heights, Texas and Nueva Ciudad Guerrero, Tamaulipas. The dam is also known as "Falcon Dam", "Puente San Juan", "Presa Falcón" and "Bordo Internacional de la Presa".".

Falcon Dam Port of Entry

Falcon Dam Port of Entry is a port of entry to the United States on the Mexican border. The Falcon Dam was built in 1954 to mitigate the effects of flooding conditions that had long plagued the towns and cities on the Texas-Mexico border, and to provide hydro-electric power for the Rio Grande Valley. The Falcon Dam Port of Entry is essentially a replacement for the former Zapata Port of Entry, which was situated at a bridge in the town of Zapata, Texas.
