Carrillo Puerto is a municipality in Veracruz, Mexico. It is located in the middle of the State of Veracruz. It has a surface of 246.76 km2. It is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:18|47|N|96|34|W||| | |name= }}. Cotaxtla is a city in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is located 45 km from the city of Veracruz on Federal Highway 180. Major products in Cotaxtla are corn, sugar, and fruits. Battle of Tierra Blanca
The Battle of Tierra Blanca was fought during the Mexican Revolution. It took place about 35 miles (56 km) south of Ciudad Juárez. It was a major victory for Francisco "Pancho" Villa over the forces of José Inés Salazar, commander of the forces loyal to Victoriano Huerta. The two armies were of relatively equal numbers, but Salazar's federal troops were in theory more disciplined, and had more artillery. The battle began on 23 November 1913. The first day saw fairly indecisive fighting.
