Tezonapa is a municipality located in the high mountains region in the State of Veracruz, Mexico, about 219 km from state capital Xalapa. It has a surface of 351 km2. Omealca means place between two rivers in nahuatl, due to it being next to Blanco river and above a subterranean one. The city has a population of about 29,300.
