Santiago Tuxtla (municipality)

The municipality of Santiago Tuxtla, in the Mexican state of Veracruz, was founded in 1524. The municipality has approximately 51,000 inhabitants (2000 census) and occupies the northwestern slope of Volcano San Martin to the Rio San Juan. Its municipal seat is the city of Santiago Tuxtla. It is part of the Sierra de Los Tuxtlas, and also includes a small section the Los Tuxtlas Biosphere Reserve.

Santiago Tuxtla

Santiago Tuxtla is a city in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name. The city of Santiago Tuxtla straddles the Río Tepango, and touristically offers many 19th century structures, a museum with artifacts dating to the Olmecs, the nearby archaeological site and museum of Tres Zapotes, and several modern hotels.

Tuxtilla

Tuxtilla is a municipality located in the south zone in the State of Veracruz, about 175 km from state capital Xalapa. It has a surface of 168.62 km2. It is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:18|14|N|95|8|W||| | |name= }}. The name comes from the language Náhuatl, Tuz-Tlan.

San Andrés Tuxtla

The city of San Andrés Tuxtla is located in the south-central portion of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It serves as the municipal seat of the surrounding municipality of San Andrés Tuxtla. Tres Zapotes

Tres Zapotes is a Mesoamerican archaeological site located in the south-central Gulf Lowlands of Mexico in the Papaloapan River plain. Tres Zapotes is sometimes referred to as the third major Olmec capital, although Tres Zapotes' Olmec phase constitutes only a portion of the site’s history, which continued through the Epi-Olmec and Classic Veracruz cultural periods. The 2000-year existence of Tres Zapotes as a cultural center is unusual, if not unique, in Mesoamerica.
