Rabat-Salé Airport

Salé Airport or Rabat-Salé Airport is an airport serving Rabat, the capital city of Morocco and of the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer region. It is a joint use public and military airport, also known as the First Royal Air Force Base. The airport is located about 8 kilometres east-northeast of Rabat and about 90 km northeast of Casablanca.

Bou Regreg

The Bou Regreg is a river located in western Morocco which discharges to the Atlantic Ocean between the cities of Rabat and Salé. The estuary of this river is termed Wadi Sala. The river is 240 kilometres long, with a tidal estuary of approximately 24 kilometres extending upriver. Its average discharge is 23 m3/s and can reach 1500 m3/s during periods of flooding.

Hajja

Hajja is a settlement in western coastal Morocco near Rabat. The earliest recorded history of the general vicinity is associated with the now ruined Chellah along the estuarine portion of the Oued Bou Regreg. Chellah was originally settled by the Phoenicians and later became a Roman settlement.

Hassan Tower

Hassan Tower or Tour Hassan is the minaret of an incomplete mosque in Rabat, Morocco. Begun in 1195, the tower was intended to be the largest minaret in the world along with the mosque, also intended to be the world's largest. In 1199, Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour died and construction on the mosque stopped. The tower only reached 44 m (140 ft), about half of its intended 86 m (260 ft) height.
