De Bonte Wever

De Bonte Wever (formerly De Smelt) is a sports arena located in Assen, Netherlands. De venue opened in the 1970s with a 400-meter speed skating track. Later an ice hockey hall was added. In the early 1990s the city of Assen became the owner of the sports complex. The speed skating track became semi-indoors and a subtropic swimming pool was added. In 2009 De Smelt was bought by Jan Smit, who changed the name to De Bonte Wever. In 2010 a hotel was built near the complex.

Dutch TT

The Dutch TT (Tourist Trophy) is a motorcycling event, traditionally held on the last Saturday of June at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands, as part of the MotoGP World Championship. In the past all classes (50 cc, 125 cc, 250 cc, 350 cc, 500 cc and sidecars) were part of the TT, nowadays only the Moto3, Moto2 and the MotoGP classes compete. The circuit where the race is held is known as "The Cathedral" of motorcycling. The Dutch TT was held for the first time in 1925.

TT Circuit Assen

The TT Circuit Assen is a motorsport race track built in 1955 and located in Assen, Netherlands. Host of the Dutch TT race, it is considered "The Cathedral" of motorcycling by the fans. It has a capacity of 100,000 spectators, including 60,000 seats. Since 1992 it is also part of the Superbike World Championship calendar.
