Heteren

Heteren is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Overbetuwe, about 12 km southwest of Arnhem on the south bank of the Rhine. Heteren was a separate municipality until 2001, when it became a part of the new municipality of Overbetuwe. Heteren is home to the main distribution centre of leading Dutch pharmacy chain 'Kruidvat'.

Andelst

Andelst is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality Overbetuwe, about 10 km northwest of the city of Nijmegen. Andelst has about 1700 inhabitants. It is an old village; the first known mention dates from 885, as Andassale.

Hotel de Wereld

Hotel de Wereld (meaning The World Hotel) in Wageningen was the site of the capitulation of the German troops in the Netherlands on 5 and 6 May 1945, and the end of German occupation during World War II. On 6 May 1945, the German general Blaskowitz surrendered to the Canadian general Charles Foulkes, which ended the Second World War in the Netherlands. The Generals negotiated the terms of surrender in the Hotel de Wereld. This fact is remembered annually.
