Zuidbroek, Groningen

Zuidbroek is a village in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is located in the municipality of Menterwolde, about 6 km north of Veendam. Zuidbroek was a separate municipality until 1965, when it became a part of Oosterbroek.

Muntendam

Muntendam is a town in the Dutch province of Groningen, municipality Menterwolde. Until 1990 it was a separate municipality, which boasted the title 'reddest (most socialist) municipality in the Netherlands', with a council of 11 containing 7 PvdA (Labour Party) members and 2 CPN (Communist Party) members. (However, nearby Reiderland had had a vast CPN majority since WWII, so the claim is rather too strong).

Sappemeer

Sappemeer is a village in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is located in the municipality of Hoogezand-Sappemeer. It is located to the east of Hoogezand. Sappemeer was a separate municipality until 1949, when it merged with Hoogezand. Famous Dutch feminist Aletta Jacobs was born in this village.

Borgercompagnie

Borgercompagnie is a village in the Dutch province of Groningen. It consists of a single street with farms and houses on both sides. The village is about 7 km long. The north end lies close to Sappemeer in the municipality of Hoogezand-Sappemeer, and the south end lies in the municipality of Veendam; part of the village also lies in Menterwolde.

De Langeleegte

De Langeleegte is a multi-use stadium in Veendam, Netherlands. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of BV Veendam. The stadium is able to hold 6,500 people and was built in 1954, with major renovations taking place in 1998.
