Oosterend
Oosterend is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Texel, and lies about 17 km northeast of Den Helder. Oosterend is the second largest village on the island. Although it's situated further from the sea than Oudeschild it's the hometown of the most fishermen on Texel. Oosterend is built around a church called Maartenskerk ("Saint Martin's Church"). The oldest parts of the church were built in the 11th century.

The built-up area of the town was 0.06 km², and contained 78 residences. The wider statistical area of De Waal has a population of around 260.

Oudeschild
Oudeschild is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Texel, and lies about 12 km northeast of Den Helder. Oudeschild is the fishing harbour of the island. It is situated at the Wadden Sea dyke. Next to the harbour, the windmill Traanroeier marks the site of the Maritime and Beachcombers Museum, which exhibits an interesting collection of objects found on the beaches of Texel.
