Hermann Wesselink College

The Hermann Wesselink College is a secondary school in The Netherlands in Amstelveen. The school is named after Hermann Wesselink, a school principal who died at an early age, soon after retirement. The motto of the school is; "A school where everybody is equal but nobody is the same". In 2009 the school has around 1600 students. The school offers vmbo, havo, vwo, and in recent years bilingual education.

Waverveen

Waverveen is a small village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is located in the municipality of De Ronde Venen, 3 km west of Vinkeveen. Waverveen was a separate municipality until 1841, when it was merged with Vinkeveen to form the municipality of Vinkeveen en Waverveen. Until 1 October 1819, Waverveen was part of Holland.

International School Amsterdam

The International School of Amsterdam (founded in 1964) is a private international school located in the city of Amstelveen. It hosts students from over 60 countries from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade (ages 3-18). The official language and language of instruction of the school is English. Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish are offered as additional languages. Around 50 other languages are spoken within the school community.

Amstel

The Amstel is a river in the Netherlands which runs through the city of Amsterdam. The river's name is derived from Aeme stelle, old Dutch for "area abounding with water". The well-known Magere Brug bridge in Amsterdam crosses the river, as do the Blauwbrug, Hoge Sluis and Berlagebrug bridges. The Stopera city hall and opera house and Carré theatre are both located on the banks of the river. A nationally televised concert is held on the river every year on Bevrijdingsdag.

Vinkeveen en Waverveen

Vinkeveen en Waverveen is a former municipality in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was created in a merger of Vinkeveen and Waverveen in 1841, and existed until 1989, when the new municipality of De Ronde Venen was formed.
