Silverdale, Auckland

Silverdale is a village approximately 30km north of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located on the north bank of the Weiti River and lies to the west of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula. It was formerly called Wade (a corruption of Weiti) but renamed Silverdale in 1911 because of the many poplar trees in the area at the time and also because it is situated in a dale. State Highway 1 passes to the west of village via the Northern Motorway.

Rodney District

Rodney District Name Rodney District Population 100,000 (June 2012 estimate) Land area 2,427.01 km² (937.07 sq mi) Extent Muriwai to Hibiscus Coast; south to Helensville Rodney District was a local government area in the northernmost part of New Zealand's Auckland Region from 1989 to 2010. It was created from the amalgamation of Helensville Borough and Rodney County in 1989. The seat of the district council was at Orewa, and the district included Kawau Island.

Rodney Ward </tr> Population 57,100 (June 2012 estimate) Extent Muriwai Beach to the Kowhai Coast; Helensville and Kumeu to Wellsford and Kawau Island Rodney Ward is a local government area in the northernmost part of New Zealand's Auckland Region, created along with the Auckland Council in 2010. The area was previously part of the Rodney District; it does not include the Hibiscus Coast, which is now in the Albany ward.

Snow Planet

Snowplanet is an indoor snow recreation centre located in Silverdale on the Hibiscus Coast in New Zealand. Snowplanet is New Zealand's first snow resort. It lies 20 minutes north of Auckland city. The snowdome, approximately 30000x 200 m and built on the side of a hill, features 50 centimetres of real powder snow, three lifts, a terrain park for freestyle skiers & snowboarders and a separate learners slope. The company offers a range of off-snow services.
