West Eyreton

West Eyreton is a small rural village in the Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island. It is located west of Kaiapoi and northwest of Eyreton and is named after Edward John Eyre, a 19th century lieutenant governor of the South Island (then known as New Munster). The 2001 New Zealand Census of Population and Dwellings revealed that Eyreton and its surrounding area had a usually resident population of 1,146, an increase of 306 or 36.4% since the 1996 census.

Waimakariri District

The Waimakariri District is a political district of New Zealand, located in the South Island, on the eastern coast of north Canterbury. It is north of Christchurch and the Waimakariri River and is a part of the greater Canterbury region. The name is Māori for cold river. The district was established in 1989 and consists of 2,218.72 square kilometres. Its 2006 population was 42,834, up 16.08% from 2001 and up 32.42% from 1996.

Glentui River

The Glentui River is a river in the Canterbury region of New Zealand. It arises on the slopes of Mount Richardson and flows south-east through the locality of Glentui and into Ashley River/Rakahuri, which exits in the Pacific Ocean. The river was earlier called Tui Creek, and the locality named from the station Glentui established by H.C.H. Knowles in 1854. There are nature and waterfall walking tracks along the river.
