Pomahaka River

The Pomahaka River is located in South Otago in New Zealand's South Island. It is a tributary of the Clutha River, flowing south for 80 kilometres from the Old Man Range of mountains to join the Clutha just north of Balclutha. Along its path it passes the Blue Mountains and the forestry town of Tapanui in the area known locally as West Otago. For a short part of its length, the river forms the boundary between Otago and Southland regions.

Tuapeka River

The Tuapeka River is located in Otago in the South Island of New Zealand. It is a tributary of the Clutha River, which it joins at Tuapeka Mouth between Roxburgh and Balclutha. The Tuapeka's main claim to fame is as the centre of the Central Otago Gold Rush of the 1860s. The first major discovery of gold in Otago was at Gabriel's Gully, close to the Tuapeka, in 1861.

Balclutha Road Bridge

The Balclutha Road Bridge, which spans the Clutha River in Balclutha, South Otago, New Zealand, is one of the best-known road bridges in New Zealand's South Island. The bridge is often simply known as "The Clutha Bridge", despite the fact that there are numerous bridges across the country's second longest river. Built between 1933 and 1935, this bowstring bridge was designed by W. L.

Benhar, New Zealand

Benhar is a settlement in New Zealand. It is located five kilometres east of Balclutha in South Otago, close to the small Lake Tuakitoto. Benhar was formerly the site of one of New Zealand's largest domestic porcelain factories, which closed in the 1980s.
