Matanaka Farm

Matanaka Farm is near Waikouaiti in Otago, New Zealand. The five buildings are the oldest surviving farm buildings that are still in their original position in the country. The farm is owned and administered by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust, and the buildings are registered as Category I and are considered "historically outstanding".

Mount Watkin/Hikaroroa

Mount Watkin/Hikaroroa is a 616 metre peak located north-west of Waikouaiti, Otago, New Zealand. It is on the east side of the North Branch of the Waikouaiti River. The peak was originally named Hikaroroa, and was renamed after a pioneer Methodist missionary, Reverend James Watkin in the 1840s. The name was changed to "Mount Watkin/Hikaroroa" by the Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act 1998 No 97.

Pleasant River (New Zealand)

The Pleasant River is in the Otago region of New Zealand. It rises in hilly forested country near Mount Trotter, west of Palmerston, fed by many small streams. After flowing generally eastward, the river turns south about 2km south of Palmerston, and enters the sea via an estuary midway between Shag Point and Waikouaiti.
