Eastern Southland Gallery

The Eastern Southland Gallery is a major provincial art gallery in Gore, Southland, New Zealand. The gallery is housed in the town's former Carnegie library building, which was built in 1909 (extended in 2003). The gallery is located at 14 Hokonui Drive, the northern end of Gore's main street, close to the town clocktower and public library.

Landslip Hill

Landslip Hill is located in Southland, in the South Island of New Zealand, between Tapanui and Pukerau. It is a debris flow feature associated with the Manuherikia Group of fluvial quartz sandstones. Geologists have described the fossil-bearing rocks as forming part of a sequence of "siliclastic fluvial deltaic sands, conglomerates and silty clays" (Lindqvist & Pocknall 1977).

St Peter's College, Gore

St Peters College is a secondary school in the Gore district, Southland Region, New Zealand. A private co-ed school of 415 students, St Peter's college was founded in 1969, becoming the first Catholic co-educational boarding school in New Zealand. The school has four "houses" which divide the students into groups for events such as athletics, swimming, cultural and community events. They are: McAuley (blue), Rosmini (yellow), Finlay (green) and Pompallier (red).
