Matamata-Piako District
The Matamata-Piako District is a local government area in the Waikato region of New Zealand. It lies to the east of the city of Hamilton. The district encompasses the southern end of the Hauraki Plains and much of the Thames Valley, and is bounded in the east by the Kaimai Range. The rivers Piako and Waihou run through the district. The towns of Matamata, Morrinsville and Te Aroha are all within the district, with the Council's head office based in Te Aroha.

Walton is a settlement in New Zealand. It is sited at the junction of Walton Road and Morrinsville Walton Road, in the Central Waikato Region. The area is predominantly dairying with some maize growing and meat chicken farming. A large thoroughbred horse stud also has its base there. Mangateparu
Mangateparu is a farming service community located close to the west bank of the Piako River, eight kilometres north of Morrinsville in the Waikato region of New Zealand. It has a population of about 400 people. The local school was forced to close in 2004. The name comes from the Maori words "manga", stream; "te", the; and "paru", muddy or deep.
