Kvaløya, Finnmark

Kvaløya is a large island in Finnmark county, Norway. The 336-square-kilometre island is divided between the municipalities of Hammerfest and Kvalsund. The town of Hammerfest is located in the western shore of the island. Other villages on the island include Forsøl, Rypefjord, and Stallogargo. The island is connected to the mainland via Norwegian National Road 94 which crosses the Kvalsund Bridge in the southern part of the island.

Kvalsund Bridge

Kvalsund Bridge is a suspension bridge in Kvalsund Municipality, Finnmark county, Norway. The bridge crosses the Kvalsundet strait between the mainland and the island of Kvaløya. The bridge is located just west of the village of Kvalsund and about 25 kilometres south of the town of Hammerfest. Opened for traffic in 1977, the 741-metre long bridge has 11 spans, the main span being 525 metres . The maximum clearance to the sea is 26 metres .

Kvalsund Church

Kvalsund Church is a parish church in Kvalsund Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. It is located in the village of Kvalsund. The church is part of the Kvalsund parish in the Hammerfest deanery in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The white wooden church was built in 1936 and it seats about 190 people.
