It is located at 2235 msnm. In Caraz the paved road that comes from Pativilca ends. The snow-capped mountains of Huandoy (6356 m), Santa Cruz (6259 m), Alpamayo (6120 m) and others, constitute a splendid frame for the city. Near Parón lagoon, the snow summits are reflected.
