Capitán FAP Renán Elías Olivera Airport

The Capitán FAP Renán Elías Olivera Airport is a small airport near Pisco in Peru. It is used by the Peruvian Army, but it can be also used by civil airplanes. Peruvian Airlines will start flights between Pisco, Cusco and Lima on June 5. Also, from 2012, a new terminal will be open and will allow international flights operations, along with cargo flights. The new terminal building is under construction and is expected to enter in service since July 2012.

Pisco, Peru

Pisco is a city located in the Ica Region of Peru, the capital of the Pisco Province. The city is around 9 metres (28 feet) above sea level. Originally the villa of Pisco was founded in 1640, close to the indigenous emplacement of the same name. Pisco is a Quechua word that means "bird. " Pisco originally prospered because of its nearby vineyards and has been claimed to be the namesake of pisco.

Paracas Candelabra

The Paracas Candelabra, also called the Candelabra of the Andes, is a well-known prehistoric geoglyph found on the northern face of the Paracas Peninsula at Pisco Bay in Peru. Pottery found nearby has been radio carbon dated to 200 BCE, the time of the Paracas culture. The design is cut two feet into the soil, with stones possibly from a later date placed around it. The figure is 595 feet tall, large enough to be seen 12 miles at sea.

Paracas Peninsula

The Paracas Peninsula is a desert peninsula within the boundaries of the Paracas National Reservation, a marine reserve which extends south along the coast. The only marine reserve in Peru, it is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. The peninsula is located within the Paracas District of the Pisco Province in the Ica Region, on the south coast of Peru.
